Dr Cate Bailey is a liaison and older adult psychiatrist in East London. Alongside clinical
work she is an MHRUK (Mental Health Research UK) scholar completing an MD(Res) at the
Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (King’s College, London). Her
mixed-methods research focusses on experiences, understanding and conceptual models in
patients with functional neurological disorders. She is a former NIHR Academic Clinical
Fellow, completed an MRes at Queen Mary University, London and was trainees’ section editor
of the BJPsych Bulletin (2018-2021). She is part of the MedAct research network and
interested in participatory, co-produced and trauma-informed research and practice.
